An Update on The Official Animal Rights March 2020

An update from the Surge team.

Firstly we hope that you’re all well, safe and looking after those around you.⁣

March 21st 2020 was initially scheduled to be our relaunch date for The Official Animal Rights March 2020, with August 15th 2020 set to be announced for our biggest global event yet, uniting thousands upon thousands of vegans across the world. ⁣

Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, we cannot currently launch with this date with absolute certainty that August 15th will be a safe date to host the march across the world. As the event is expected to attract over 50,000 people globally, it is crucial we consider everyone’s safety at this time and only launch when we are sure of a safe date to move forwards with.⁣

Every march requires a huge amount of organisational work from a team of wonderful activists across the globe, and therefore it’s vital that we set in motion organising, advertising, promotion and materials, only when we can be sure of the date, and of the safety of everyone involved. ⁣

As more information becomes available, we’ll provide more updates. TOARM isn’t going anywhere, but for now we do need to hold off on announcing the date for the next global event. ⁣

Furthermore, we are currently not hosting any Down with Dairy events and have asked all organisers to follow the public health advice in their respective country, and to stay at home if they can.⁣

We hope you’re safe, that you understand the delay on this, and that you are continuing to advocate for the animals from your home. Thank you for your support at this time.
